Lung Werner returns to Chiang Mai

Dear Editor

The owner of the very first German Restaurant " Ben´s Bierstube" in Chiang Mai will be back after 37 years to visit the places again he knew so well in 1975. He is wondering, if someone still remembers the restaurant where he sold the finest Sauerkraut east of Suez.

What happened to: Mr. Nit´s Sandwich Bar? to The Pub? to the Coq d`Or?  Daret Restaurant where we spent soo many evenings with delicious food?

As far as I know, the ox-cart weel tabel   I left behind - was too heavy for the plane - serves now at the Pub, if it still exists.

Noisy fireworks

"Dear Editor,
We moved from America to Chiang Mai last year and my wife is Celiac (she is allergic to gluten). Do you know of restaurants that would prepare gluten free food for her?   Are there any other resources in the city for people with food allergies?  I have attached a card we use (in Thai) that helps us order but it is only somewhat effective.  Feel free to share this with any other gluten intolerant people struggling to eat in Chiang Mai,
